Welcome
At The Knitted Forest, we believe the richness of life is simple, it’s the freedom that comes from being connected to nature, to each other, and to the land we restore. We’re a Dutch family rooted in Asturias, Spain, where our regenerative, organic farm brings together apple orchards for local cider, a no-dig market garden, a syntropic food forest, and sheep grazing in silvopasture whose wool we use with care.
Everything we do is about giving back to the land and sharing its abundance. We hope you enjoy discovering our farm, and that one day, we’ll meet among the trees or over a glass of cider.
Regenerative farming is about restoring the bond between people and the land. Instead of taking from the soil, we help it heal and working with nature to bring life back into the ground. Cover crops, compost, trees, and grazing animals all play a role in rebuilding fertility, capturing carbon, and creating healthy, living ecosystems. It’s more than a way to grow food, it’s a way to give back.
We believe that a shift to System Thinking is required to be able to redesign the system to leave value to next generations, instead of depleting:
- our actions are not isolated
- shift from only analytical to a synthetic way of thinking, from one-dimensional to multi, from narrow to broader focus.
- learn from failures
- open up to collaborations and new ways of working
