Sheep

At our farm, we keep Border Leicester, Merino, and local Xalda sheep. The sheep graze according to a rotational system on different fenced sections, ensuring they always have access to fresh grass while preventing diseases within the flock. This grazing method also benefits the land and vegetation, keeping the ecosystem balanced and healthy.

Our sheep are integrated with the trees in a silvopasture system, helping to maintain fertile, nourished soil. Every year, we shear the sheep, and their wool is spun into yarn, which we then sell.

In addition, Elze, besides running The Knitted Forest, has her own recycled yarn brand, Oh My Pebbles. This way, the sheep not only help us regenerate our land, but also provide us with useful, warm, and sustainable products from their wool.
